Information Regarding School Closure
Dear Parents and Guardians,
The Cardinal Newman CSS administration would like to extend our gratitude to all members of our school community for their cooperation and patience during the school closure event that took place on February 13th.
We were notified at approximately 7:45 am that a water main had ruptured in the area and that the school would we without water beginning at some point in the morning and lasting throughout the day. Since the majority of students were already in the school at this time it was decided that we would run periods 1 and 2 as per our normal schedule and then we would dismiss students at the end of period 2. This allowed us time to contact the bus carriers to arrange for student pick up and also to get the message out to students and parents (via our website, Twitter account and school voicemail system) so that arrangements could be made for a safe departure. Furthermore, the school cafeteria was designated as a safe place that students could use if they were not able to arrange for transportation.
Classes will resume on Wednesday, February 14th.
Again, we thank you for your understanding and support during our rather hectic day.
