NEWMAN STUDENTS MAKE HISTORY!

NEWMAN STUDENTS WIN AGAIN AT THE SUSAN E. BENNETTO HISTORY AWARDS AND NEWMAN STUDENT LUANA AMATUZIO IS NAMED HISTORY STUDENT OF THE YEAR!

Four Cardinal Newman students won Bennetto History Awards given out on Saturday February 24, 2018 as part of the City of Hamilton's Heritage Day. For the second year in a row, a Newman student claimed the top award. Luana Amatuzio, a grade 12 student, won the top honours and was named History Student of the Year. Grade 11 student Kristofer Horvat also claimed 3rd place. Students Ava Mercanti and Vanessa Patton were also acknowledged for their strong contributions. All of the students were nominated by Ms. M. D'Angelo and have shown excellence in the study of History, community involvement in history related activities and an overall appreciation for the importance of History. Mayor Eisenberger, who participated in the Ceremony, acknowledged the accomplishments of all these students.
