CN Dance Squad

Cardinal Newman officially has a co-curricular Dance Squad which features the unique talents of students with diverse performing arts backgrounds. Currently, the CN Dance Squad is comprised of a mixture of competitive and recreational dancers as well as those who simply love to dance but have no formal training. This combination makes for a dynamic group eager to learn and help one another improve. They are confident and show no fear when it comes to tackling a new step or contributing to the creative process. The Squad is open to students Grades 9-12 and currently has 15 members. The group takes pride in representing Cardinal Newman and the Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board through events such as the ' Halloween Murder Mystery', School Assemblies, Winter/Spring Concerts, BR Music Fest as well as Secondary School dance competitions (ie. Niagara's Best Dance Crew). Beyond their funky hip-hop style, these student-dancers exude invaluable qualities such as perseverance, discipline and dedication. They exemplify Catholic behaviour through kindness, patience and peer collaboration and give thanks by using the gift of movement that God has blessed them with. The future of the CN Dance Squad is shining with many opportunities within and beyond the capacity of the Catholic school community.
